1. Data controller
Iñigo Rodriguez-Rovira, Madrid (Spain). Contact for anything related to personal data: hola@carsmmo.com.
2. What data we process and why
| Where | Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waitlist (website) | Your email address | To send you an alpha invitation when a spot opens. Nothing else: no advertising, no sharing | Your consent (art. 6.1.a) |
| Contact form (website) | Email and the message you write | To reply to you | Your consent (art. 6.1.a) |
| Game account | Pilot name, password (stored irreversibly hashed), invite code used and, once we add it, email address | Providing the service: identifying you, saving your progress, recovering access | Performance of the relationship you accept when creating the account (art. 6.1.b) |
| Game data | Progression, cars and parts, economy, race results and session telemetry | The game itself (your progress IS the game) and cheat and fraud detection | Performance of the relationship (art. 6.1.b) and legitimate interest in competition integrity (art. 6.1.f) |
| Public website boards (carsmmo.com) | Pilot name and race results (records, statistics, public driver card) | The public record and statistics boards on carsmmo.com. Your pilot name appears by default; you can withdraw it at any time from the in-game Options menu and your marks are then shown as "Anonymous driver" | Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f), with immediate objection from the Options menu |
| Bug reports (F8 key) | A screenshot of the moment, technical session data and the text you write. Can be sent anonymously | Diagnosing and fixing bugs | Your consent when pressing send (art. 6.1.a) |
| Technical logs | IP address and connection metadata in server logs | Security, diagnostics and abuse prevention | Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f) |
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build commercial profiles and we do not sell or share data with third parties.
3. Anti-fraud measures
The game validates races on the server and automatically applies the competition rules (for example, disqualifications or sanctions on manifestly impossible results). If you believe a sanction on your account is wrong, write to hola@carsmmo.com and a human will review it.
4. Where the data lives
On Microsoft Azure servers in the European Union (West Europe region). Microsoft acts as data processor (hosting and email, Microsoft 365) under its business data protection terms. There are no transfers outside the European Economic Area as part of the normal operation of the service.
5. For how long
- Waitlist: until we invite you, you ask to leave the list, or we close the invitation process.
- Account and game data: for as long as the account exists. During the alpha progress may be deleted at any time (the "wipes" in the terms).
- Bug reports and technical logs: a few months at most; they are deleted periodically once they are no longer useful for diagnosis.
6. Your rights
You may at any time exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@carsmmo.com from the email address associated with your request. We reply as soon as possible and, in any case, within the legal one-month period.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
7. Cookies
The carsmmo.com website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If we ever add analytics, it will be of the kind that does not identify people, and it will be reflected here.
8. Changes
Any change to this policy will be published here, with its version date.
